You can accomplish great things with small steps toward your goal.

Be The Turtle

One of the more misunderstood aspects of transforming your health and fitness is about how much time and effort it takes daily.

People think it takes a monumental effort every single day. That you have to starve yourself. That you have to do endless hours of cardio.

Not true.

It takes some discipline and consistency.

If you just make SMALL improvements each day and you don’t take huge steps backward, you’ll be shocked at how much you can accomplish.

Just get one percent better today. That’s it. One percent. Today only.

Don’t worry about tomorrow.

Don’t worry about yesterday.

Don’t try to get 10% or 20% better today.

Actually, 10-20% happening is very rare.

It isn't sustainable.

Just improve the tiniest bit.

If you’re currently super sedentary and eat like a frat boy, go for a walk. That’s it. There’s your one percent.

The next day, eat 1 vegetable. The next day, have protein at breakfast.

The next day, pack your lunch instead of eating out.

You get the idea.

If I commit to getting 1% better today, then 1% better tomorrow, then 1% better the next day, pretty soon I’m 5%, 10%, 20%, 50% better than I was when I started.

That's 3,800% in one year!

Losing 20, 30, 50 pounds seems overwhelming. The idea of losing double-digit pounds is so intimidating that some people never get started.

If you're looking for some inspiration, check out what Jessica has to say here.

What if we pick something more reasonable, say .1% every day?

At the end of a year, you’d experience 44% growth. That still would be incredible progress.

.1% every single day is easy. It’s parking in the back of the parking lot to get a little exercise. It’s pausing for 5 seconds before dinner to be grateful. It’s noticing that you're getting lost scrolling on your phone, so you put it down and move on to a more productive task.

Little habits, little decisions like this fuel major growth.

Do something today. Something that’ll get you a teeny bit closer to your goal. Something that’ll put a little wind in your sails. Something that’ll give you your first win.

Don’t try to do it all today.

Do a little today, a little tomorrow, and a little the next day.

Remember that the turtle won the race. 😉

Ready, set, go!

You've got this!!
